Lowry Family Vacation - Seattle - Canada

This is Seattle, home to Ben's brother Mike and his wife Brooke for the past few years. They're moving to Norway in the fall, so we decided to visit them while we had the chance. Meet Mike and Brooke Lowry.
We road-tripped it up to Canada (18 hours of drive-time logged...OUCH). The kids were amazingly well behaved. Trick: Lots of Baby Einstein movies, snack box within reach of both kids and A LOT of pit-stops. We took advantage of our atlas and stopped at as many parks as possible along the way.
Isaac LOVED his new sling (thanks again Aurelie!) Cozy, relaxing - and easy access to Mommy's hair.
This little treasure was a bit unexpected. The biggest Radio Flyer I've ever seen! Abby and I had to take a ride on the slide!

We headed to Canada first, to introduce Abby and Isaac to their Great-Grandma Leone (look closely, Isaac took to her immediately) and familiarize Abby and Isaac to their 1/2 homeland (they both are Canadian citizens).
In Canada, Isaac had his first beach experience. Not yet walking, our little sea turtle found the quickest way to the water...
Almost there...
Splash! Of course, he just had to drink the water. Sick.
Sand, water, rocks, shells...he was in his element.

Abby enjoyed hamming it up with Daddy.
She was a bit more timid about the water however.
After Canada, Ben and Mike took a side-trip to Portland to attend their sister Colleen's graduation . Congratulations Colleen!
Then it was play time with Mike and Brooke. You'll make a great daddy someday, Uncle Mike!

Okay, no real story behind this photo...but just look at those eyes! Even with a filthy face, I just love that kid. And this one too.

In Seattle, we had to visit a few landmarks. Here we are at Pike's Place Market - sitting on the famous "Rachel the Pig". (I was only a little offended.)

And of course, the coast.
One highlight was picking bunches of fresh lavender from the lavender farms in Sequim.

In Victoria, Abby was a bit bashful when she met Queen Victoria.
We had a great time on this beautiful island!

Abby and Isaac loved riding along in this trailer as we toured the town on bikes.

We miss you already Mike and Brooke!
