Hangin' Out in Huntington

After three very busy, very fun, very exciting days in the happiest place on earth, our happy little family felt the need to rest and relax at the beach. Of course, whenever you're in LA, you MUST take a quick detour to Westwood and visit the absolute Greatest Ice cream Shop ON EARTH! As a missionary, this little treasure quickly became a weekly must for my comps and I. Ten years ago, it was a steal to get one of their homemade ice cream sandwiches for a buck. (Two fresh baked, warm gooey cookies wrapped around a generous scoop of the ice cream of your choice...my mouth is watering just thinking about it...mmmmmm!) We stopped in with the kids and were thrilled to find that inflation has not made them change their tasty ways. We walked out of there with enough cookies and ice cream to feed an army - all for less than 10 bucks. WE LOVE YOU DIDDY RIESE! After that refreshing little stop, it was off to the beach! Abby and Isaac were in HEAVEN - scooping and running and digging and exploring. (All with the beloved Minnie Mouse ears, of course.)

Abby quickly became a true beach bum. (har, har, har...)

It's not easy to build a sandcastle when you have two pipsqueaks eagerly waiting to smash each new tower you create, but hey - I tried.

Isaac set a personal goal to pack home as much sand in his clothing as possible.

Daddy taught Isaac all about seaweed.
And we got to spend a little quality time with Ben's friends Dave and Jessica.

Of course, when at Huntington beach, you must eat at Ruby's on the end of the Pier.

What a great way to end a perfect vacation!
