Disneyland, Revisited

Yes, I know. This poor lonely blog has been severely neglected in the past few weeks. But here it is, as promised - a few more glimpses into the happiest vacation on earth! We had a fantastic time in Disneyland and looking at these pictures makes us want to go back. Right. NOW!

The kids were champs - into everything and braver than we thought on most of the rides. But if you were to ask them, the most exciting part of the whole adventure was meeting the characters they have come to love through Disney books and movies. We had breakfast at Ariel's Grotto and were privileged to dine while the princesses visited our table!

The whole morning was magical - we were chosen as the "Celebration Family" and got to go up with the Royal Squire and read the proclamation on a scroll introducing the first Royal Princess. The food was great and the princesses beautiful. Our moment of pride? When Abby announced at top of her lungs, "Mommy, why is Jasmine not modest at all?"
Of course we had to pose for the classic family shots.

Should we worry that our little boy was enthralled by Tinkerbell? She was so great and spent a good five minutes talking to him about cars - here she is even testing out the matchbox car that he always has handy - just in case beautiful fairies need a quick driving lesson.
Halloween was in full swing!
One night when we were feeling a bit over-Disneyed, we took a quick jaunt to the beach to watch the sunset.
On Saturday, Isaac wore his pirate shirt so he could ride the pirate ship.

Here we are as pirates on board the "Disney Pearl". Arrrrgh!

Daddy and Abby had some fun time alone while they went on the rides Isaac and I were not allowed on. Splash mountain was her favorite!
Although she was admittedly a bit nervous at first.
On their way through Frontierland, Abby sat down to color and... to her surprise - Woody ignored the crowds of kids following him around, sat down next to Abby and began coloring a picture for her. She could not believe her luck!

On the last night, we ditched the parade and hit the rides - walking right on to It's a Small World...three times in a row! Talk about getting a song stuck in your head!

On Sunday, we toured the beach and visited the temple - a great way to end a fabulous vacation!

Though it was fun and memorable to see the kids reaction to the Disney characters, I would be fine waiting a few years before going back. However revisiting the California and the beach would be great to do again sooner than later.
