In October we were all getting a little stir-crazy, so we headed south to
Moab and had a grand old time.

The kids were little troopers - hiking all day long every day without complaint...except when they got tired, then Daddy became the pack-mule and carried their tired little bodies back to the
trail head.

Of course there were campfire
delicacies to be devoured each night. I gave Abby and Isaac explicit training on how to roast the PERFECT marshmallow. Much to my delight, they both decided for the first time in their little lives that roasted marshmallows actually taste good and have another purpose besides becoming flaming balls of sugar to be tossed around camp, forgotten, stepped in the next morning, and squished all over the car.

On our first big hike, we realized that we had forgotten
Soren's sun hat. Coming from rainy Salt Lake, we didn't think that our littlest hiker might get baked. So, I (Yes, Ben was innocent on this one) grabbed Abby's pink baseball cap, adjusted it to size and lovingly placed it on his head to protect him from the cancerous rays.

He instantly pulled down the visor and buried his face in shame. I guess he's going to put up a little more fight than Isaac did about wearing his sister's pink hand-me-
down's. Sorry,
Soren.

We were all in awe of Delicate Arch.

Of course, we busted out the traditional Jiffy Pop
camp stove popcorn. Uh,
hunh! That is some
goooooood corn!

It was a beautiful vacation - perfect weather, great kids. Even little
Soren proved himself to be a fantastic little camper!

He just opened those big eyes and soaked it all in...
