Little Green Men

St. Patty's Day Eve, 2011: My wee lad and lass spent several hours creating and setting their leprechaun traps. Fool's gold to lure them in, a lucky charms treat as bait...we were set! Isaac and Abby were absolutely SURE they would catch a little Irish Imp or two.

But on St. Patty's day morning, the joke was on us. The traps were sprung, and we found evidence of their mischief all over the house!

Abby had left her markers out the night before, and it appears our little leprechaun has an artistic side - he drew polka dots all over Abby and Isaac's feet while they were sleeping! Pesky little guy...

That's not the only prank he pulled. Abby and Isaac followed the little green footprints (that were all over the house) and found that our milk had been turned green overnight! That pesky guy even turned Soren's bottle green!

He wasn't all bad though, because everywhere we looked, we found little piles of gold he had left behind.

Isaac had to use his shirt to carry all the loot he was finding!

All day long, both at home and at school, we were entertained by the pranks of those little Irishmen. Upside-down chairs, gold coins tucked in jacket pockets and shoes, picture frames flipped around, footprints on the porch...those leprechauns sure were sneaky this year! The plan for new - improved traps for next year is already in the works...
Happy St. Patty's Day!
