Yesterday we were feeling a bit stir crazy. The kids were wild and we all felt up to a challenge. I dug a few boxes and craft supplies out of the basement, the kids donned some old t-shirts and voila - hours and hours and HOURS of entertainment! We decided to make a fort for each kid. Abby was happy to teach Isaac how to finger paint.
Of course, my little Isaac was thrilled to be able to get those hands dirty!
I went to town with the knife and cut out custom windows in whatever shape the kids requested.

The little boy in Ben just couldn't be kept from trying it out himself. We need some bigger boxes...
We had to tear little I-zack out of "Zack's Shack" for bedtime. If it were just a little bigger, I'm sure he would have been happy to sleep there.
At the end of the evening, the kids insisted that we not leave their beautiful creations outside to be exposed to the elements. We rearranged a little furniture and now each kid has a fort in one corner of their room. Here's Abby, hide'n out in her hideout.

It's amazing what you can do with a cardboard box...
