Holiday Highlights #3

Christmas Eve Festivities
Pimpin' it in the dollar store hat. Making holiday masks with the cousins.

Passing around the ceremonial lump of coal.

Listening to a Christmas concert by Grandma, Megan, and Lauren.

Watching "Bat Girl" try out her new gifts.

Playing with the hand-made tops from Papa. (This is Jackson offering to bet his beloved bottle of Dora Bubble Bath to anyone whose top can spin longer than his.)

And then heading home to check out Santa's flight path on the computer - are we too late? Did her already pass our house?

"Isaac, look! Are they here yet?"

Hanging Santa's Magic Key on the door so he'll have a way to get in. (Isaac still making sure Rudolph isn't out there somewhere.)

Putting out the milk and cookies for Santa, the carrots for the reindeer, and a special cupcake for Rudolph. Abby wanted to know if reindeer like chocolate. There's only one way to find out...

Thank you note (in advance) for Santa.

And finally, heading to bed in a hurry so we wouldn't get caught awake when Santa came. This is the only night of the year that Abby doesn't beg and plead for one more story, one more drink, anything she can do to get out of sleeping. In fact, she begged us to let her go straight to bed. During bedtime story, "Can't we just read our story tomorrow?" During prayer time: "Can't we just say our family prayer tomorrow? I'm really worried that I won't be asleep when Santa comes so he'll go to somebody else's house and forget about us!"

Daddy woke up in the middle of the night and ran upstairs. He just missed Santa, and snapped a photo of the loot he left behind.
