Me: "Class, open your Social Studies book to page 214. Now, I know it's been a long day and we've been working really hard, so today I'm going to let you read along to the tape instead of reading it on your own."
Student: (timidly raising her hand with a perplexed look on her face) "Uh, Mrs. Lowry? How is TAPE going to help us read our Social Studies book?"
Me: "I have tapes that go along with our books so you can just listen."
Student: "What is a TAPE? Is it like a CD or something?"
WOW. Guess it's time to finally part with the Depeche Mode collection I've been saving since 7th grade - any takers?
