Happy Birthday Lexi!

I always tell myself that I'll do a special birthday tribute to each of my family members on their birthdays. Those who know me best know that I tend to get a bit sappy over birthdays. I've been known to fill up the entire group card with my own love message as I begin thinking about how grateful I am that each little person is alive. I've missed a few birthdays already this year, but I guess it's better late than never, right? Today my little niece Lexi turned 4 years old. This spunky little girl burst into the world while Ben and I were visiting my parents in New Zealand, so we didn't even meet her until she was nearly a month old. But she sure adds her own little flair to our family. The youngest of a family of beautiful, girly girls - she mixes things up with her zany personality, love of all things Batman, and holds the family record for most consecutive days wearing doggie ears everywhere she went (I think she topped out at 314 - no lie.)

Today, after eating her birthday soup with her fingers for lunch, she had an AWESOME cookie baking party. What a great way to get messy!

We love you Lexi! Happy Birthday!
