Yay Spring!

There is something incredible about the first few real days of spring. The crisp, clear mornings that smell of rain and new growth, the bright blue skies with fluffy white clouds, the unveiling of the toes and the happy reunion with short sleeves, flip flops and capri's. Ah yes, today felt like one long, blissful sigh after a long, cold winter.

Our spring celebrations have officially begun (and if I could think of something as catchy as "Falliday", you know I'd be dubbing these first days of spring a holiday!)

Spring is the perfect time for:
1. Wrestling with your kids under the sun...
2. Getting "Pity Pedi's" (a new tradition my sisters, mom and I just thought up today. Anytime one of us goes and does something stupid - like, say, back into somebody else's car in a parking lot {my poor mom} we pamper ourselves with pedicures. We missed you LIS!).Of course, the little ones came along and Abby LOVES her pink manicure!

3. Flying kites with awesome friends - Thanks Stan and Brittney for inviting our family to play!

4. Hanging out with BELLE at a real live princess b-day party! Happy Birthday, "Princess Adrienne!"

5. Hanging out with mommies while kids are at said birthday party:)

6. Pouting because you are too sick to go to said birthday party (he even dressed up in his finest gown, poor kid.)

7. Trying to figure out the mystery of the missing straps on your favorite princess dress. (Thank goodness for white t-shirts and safety pins!)

8. And finally, what spring celebration can conclude without a huge, messy, muddy, flower planting festival on the front porch?! (This photo was taken after both kids had been stripped of muddy clothes, one broken pot had been thrown away, 2 buckets-full of potting soil had been swept up, and the entire scene sprayed by the hose.) Looks pretty good for the work of two excited pre-schoolers, don't you think? And don't worry, the wheat grass in the big green pot may look splotchy right now, but it's just sprouting, in a few days it will look nice and Eastery!

Hopefully these babies grow a bit better than my chia pet...still not sure I'm ready to talk about that little disappointment. Anybody having a white elephant party anytime soon?
